This is probably the most depressing thing I have ever done. I went over to Genocide Watch and downloaded their list of "Genocides and Politicides" since 1945, i.e. since we started to pretend to care about this sort of thing, and went through them. I discarded anything under five figures of death as chump change. The answer?
Forty-three.
That's right forty-three genocides since 1945 and since we started piously mouthing this crap about 'never again'. What is wrong with us?
